Willem de Mulder
Horst aan de Maas, Netherlands
Born at a very early age, Willem de Mulder was almost immediately influenced by music.
When he was a small boy his mom always listened to 'Arbeidsvitaminen', while little Mulder was crawling across the livingroom. Even after all these years looking back on that time of his life he remembers hearing Tangerine Dream's "Love on a real train" and Jan Hammer's "Crockett's Theme".
Getting older Mulder got into percussion. He started taking lessons and learned that music was his big passion. Being fascinated by rhythm in general, the new music, being House-music, got his complete attention. At the age of 15 he got his first turntables and started practicing. Playing at his friends’ parties, it got clear to him that he wanted to pursue this career.
Years later, after he had studied percussion, he applied to the dutch Rock Academy as a DJ/producer. Being accompanied by great names in the dutch electronic scene such as Gert van Veen and Julien Chaptal he developed his production-skills to a higher level.
In 2009 he signed to Daniel Sanchez' Bla Bla label and made his debute with 4SURE.
Being played by Marco Carola, Dubfire, Paco Osuna and Karotte, Mulder made a strong first impression in the international dancescene.
He also works under his 'Second Floor' alias. This more melodic style has been picked up by guys like Secret Cinema, Michel de Hey and Jack Wax. These guys are releasing some of his stuff this year.
Standing at the early beginning of his career, Mulder has alreay played some nice venues like Studio 80 and Perron 55. Having line-upped some new productions for 2009, Mulder will definetely get your attention in the near future!
